S.STAR RIDERS CHALLENGE

ROAD BIKE

The Serra da Estrela Riders Challenge is a challenge for road cyclists, where participants are challenged to complete three stages, corresponding to three routes previously designed on the slopes that surround the Serra da Estrela central massif.

We are a family owned and operated business.

Cyclists have a two-month window (from 18 August to 18 October) to reach their goal, which involves completing the three stages within a defined maximum time for each route. It is the participants who choose the day (s) and time (s) in which they intend to fulfill the three stages, doing so in total autonomy and assuming all responsibility for their behavior as a citizen and practitioner of cycling, especially with regard to your safety and that of other users of the public road and in compliance with current health standards.

We are a family owned and operated business.

The marking of courses, the recording of data, as well as the validation of the achieved goals and the performance of the athletes is done through electronic devices (GPS) and digital platforms developed for this purpose. All communication management and data verification is done by the team responsible for the development and management of the Serra da Estrela Riders Challenge.

We are a family owned and operated business.

Serra da Estrela being the most grandiose and mythical cycling scene in Portugal, it is natural that overcoming and discovering may be the main condiments of this challenge. However, participants can enjoy an added attraction, fighting for their position in different rankings, by recording the time it takes to complete some segments identified in each of the routes, which correspond to some of the most iconic climbs of Serra da Estrela.

On September 3, 2020, our cyclist Tiago Crespo de Setúbal, cycled through the magnificent Serra da Estrela Natural Park, starting the Bike Roads challenge.

We are a family owned and operated business.

On this day our cyclist started the south stage which has an extension of 115 kilometers with an accumulated of 3000D +.

We are a family owned and operated business.

Tiago Crespo finished this stage in a magnificent time, in 04H40M52s with an hourly average of 24km / h, managing to move ahead of the general classification.

On September 4, 2020, our cyclist Tiago Crespo, after the previous day (9/3/20) managed to get 1st place in the South Stage, was not satisfied and decided to start a new challenge, this time the West Stage.

We are a family owned and operated business.

On this day our cyclist started the south stage, which has an extension of 102 kilometers with an accumulated of 2450D +.

We are a family owned and operated business.

This stage was completed in 03H52M04s with an hourly average only within reach of some, 26km / h, an absolutely extraordinary hourly average, and once again Tiago Crespo also started to lead this stage.

There are no two without three, on September 5, 2020, once again the cyclist Tiago Crespo returned to enter another challenge by doing the Este Este, to mention that in the previous two days he had already accomplished two stages that I managed to position myself in the 1st place of both stages, he had already accumulated 217 kilometers and accumulated 5450D +.

We are a family owned and operated business.

On this day our cyclist started the East Stage which has an extension of 77 kilometers with an accumulated of 2100D +.

We are a family owned and operated business.

This stage was concluded in 03H05M19s with an hourly average of 24.8km / h, and in this way Tiago Crespo leads 3 of the 4 existing stages in this Bike Roads challenge. Tiago Crespo also currently leads this stage.

"For a long time I planned to walk through the Serra da Estrela Natural Park without being in the context of granfondos, to enjoy a bit of the mountain in a different way.

Having no tracks from the area, this Bike Roads challenge was perfect, a good coincidence, and a good motivation.

There were 3 different ascents to the tower, all different, at the level of demand, which I would highlight the glacial valley, of butters.

It was the most spectacular.

About the result, I didn't think much, I just walked as fast as I can, for as long as possible, managing the effort along the stages. just like that I like to walk. "
